The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is organizing the first edition of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES- https://wavesindia.org/) to be held on 5-9 February 2025 in New Delhi. A series of competitive challenges & engagement activities in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, E-sports, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) sectors are being organized as a run-up to the main event.
The E-Gaming Federation (www.egf.org.in ) is organizing one such challenge titled City Quest: Shades of Bharat which will run as part of Create in India Challenge: Season 1, a precursor to WAVES 2025.

Aligned with Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision around urban planning, City Quest is an educational game to celebrate Bharat’s urban development. This card-based game educates players about the unique attributes of Indian cities, from their cleanliness and development to their educational and healthcare facilities. The parameters for city cards will be taken from Niti Aayog portal SDG India Index (2021). The game will use accurate, government-sourced data empowering players to appreciate the strengths and challenges faced by various urban centers across the country.
The custom-made game developed for WAVES 2025, will compare city parameters and score points based on which city excels in the chosen criteria. It is a single-player game where players will compete against a computer using a deck of city cards.
The objective of the game is to highlight the government's initiatives and progress in improving urban environments, enhancing public awareness and pride in these achievements.
