Overview of the game

Aligned with Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision around urban planning, CityQuest is an educational game to celebrate Bharat’s urban development. It is more than just a game, it’s a fun and educational experience designed to spread awareness of the NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among Indians.

The card-based game educates players about the unique attributes of Indian cities, from their cleanliness and development to their educational and healthcare facilities. It uses accurate, government-sourced data to promote SDG localization and track urban progress through 77 indicators across 15 SDGs. CityQuest compares city parameters and score points based on which city excels in the chosen criteria. By playing, a player will not only compete but also learn about the development, challenges, and strengths of Indian cities.

This is a single-player game where players will compete against a Vishwakarma (AI) using a deck of city cards, not against a real player. Explore the strengths and challenges of 56 cities across the country, all while reliving the joy of the childhood trump card game we all loved!

PRIZE CATEGORIES

  • Two winners from each of the 4 regions, i.e., 8 winners.
  • Two winners from the Divyang category
  • Two winners from Armed Forces (currently serving or veterans)

How to Play

1Player vs. Vishwakarma (AI): The player and Vishwakarma (AI) are each given a separate deck of 11 cards randomly shuffled.

2All 11 cards are face-down. Each player reveals the topmost card and picks a stat to compare.

3Both cities are compared based on the chosen stat. The city card with better stats wins the round.

4The winning hand gets +1 point, and there will be bonus points on winning streaks.

LEADERBOARD

The leaderboard will feature both national and city-specific rankings. The national leaderboard will showcase players' ranks across India, while the city-based leaderboard will offer a dynamic view, ranking players within their respective cities. This dual-ranking system adds an engaging layer of competition, allowing players to see how they stack up both nationally and locally. Individual players can view other rankings through the game's interface. For city-teams, players need to sign up for their home city or the closest city listed in the NITI Aayog report, for example, #TeamCochin vs #TeamBhopal.
